Summer FEEL GOOD ESSENTIALS

So for the last couple of days minus a few gross thundery ones, the weather has really been making a positive appearance with it's good light (thank-you sun) and surprising warm heat (also thank-you sun).
Therefore I am lucky enough to be doing a post about the certain things I need on a summers day, Enjoy!

1. MINIMAL MAKE-UP

If the sun is going to do a few good things, one is definitely helping to tan and make your skin feeling good. Especially if you get random spotty breakouts like me, nothing helps like a good bit of sun.
During summer I try my best to keep my make-up at a minimum. Therefore, less foundation and more natural and better looking skin.
Although I keep my base as light as I can with a simple bit of blush, it doesn't mean you can splurge on a few good lip and eye products.
For my lips I'm using my L'Oreal Nude (Juliana's Nude) and my KIKO Ultra Glossy lip pencil 610, together they have quite a fuchsia coloured pink which normally I'm not super hyped about, but I am really enjoying this lip colour with a tan, it also tastes super fruity and my lips feel so hydrated.
If you're a non lippy kinda person, balms and tinted lip corrector and glosses are also great,
A lip corrector that I love is from Clarins, I got two shades of this, one in a nude/brown shade and one which is a much pinkier light shade. They look and feel like thick glosses on my lips but are so nourishing and make them POP.
For eyes, I like to keep it simple with a good base such as the Maybeline Colour Tattoo (On and On bronze) and my Smashbox Full Exposure palette to shadow my crease and add a lighter cream shimmer to the corner and inner half of my eyelid. Sometimes I will add my Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner to add definition but if not I'll skip it out and go straight to mascara. (Lancome Doll eyes)
For brows I almost always go for a grey toned brown in my Smashbox palette.

2. LIGHT, COMFY BUT PRETTY DRESSES

There's no doubt about the fact I am a dress a skirt person, whether it's summer or winter.
Over a bikini (always have one just incase you spot a perfect sunbathing opportunity) I will throw on a pretty flowing dress which enables me to tan if I'm walking around anyway.
This is from H&M (last years collection) and I love how the white makes your skin look so sun-kissed (even if you're not great at tanning!)
I'm also loving stripes and spots this summer so this dress from River Island is definitely one of my favourites to wear during summer.
If you're not so comfortable with your body, maxi skirts are a great way to look flattering and summery. I buy most of my maxi skirts from Boohoo, miss guided and sometimes River Island, RI has much better quality but is a little more pricier.

3. SUMMERY DRINKS AND SNACKS

Who doesn't love a tasty, cool and refreshing drink when all you want to do is dive into a swimming pool. Recently I purchased the Blend Active Blender which is PERFECT for smoothies. I've made a few smoothies which weren't for me but others have been unreal. One which I will never get tired of is a super tasty blend which believe it or not, tastes exactly like the dark pink maoams?!
I used:
1/4 GALA MELON
1/2 BLENDER OF FROZEN RASPBERRIES
1 BANANA
1 ACTIVIA CHERRY YOGHURT
A GENEROUS DRIZZLE OF ORANGE JUICE (top up once blended for more space)

The frozen raspberries make it nice and cold as well as thickens the drink along with the yoghurt. This is by far my favourite and tastiest drink!
For snacks it is the same kind of thing, when it's hot the last thing I want to do is eat heavy foods ( I still do) but if I try hard enough, I like to persuade myself to make a fruit salad. It's light summery, cool and definitely tasty If you get the right fruits.
In my fruit salad, I'll usually have either raspberries or strawberries, pineapple. apple, orange, melon and some type of fruit juice. (I never ever add banana to fruit salads, for me it just doesn't feel right)

4 FEEL GOOD DURING SUMMER

The one thing during summer that often effects a lot of us is actually the way we look and feel infront of others. I know for me it is an issue. Whether you lose or put on weight or not, doing exercise and eating healthily is definitely a 'feel good' thing. I have an exercise bike which I got
from Argos. It's not very expensive and as specialised as others but it does the job, has specific levels and keeps track of time. For me, that's all I really need for a stable exercise bike. I do 30 minutes of this a day If I have the time (I always have the time, it's normally more if I can be motivated to do so)
I also have the Wii Fit which is a lot more fun to exercise with. Rather than sitting in the same spot for 30 minutes, there's a range of activities, games, workouts and even yoga (feel good inside as well as out!?) I often find myself running around the living room jogging with cats on the Wii which I suppose is beneficial...
Drinking lots of water is also important, It's good for your skin, body and is great for waking you up in the morning. It does way more good than bad so there's no reason not to hydrate as much as you can.
